OCCUPATION
This outback alien-invasion actioner has what it takes to compete with the likes of a Hollywood blockbuster. Boasting a stellar local and international cast including Dan Ewing (HOME AND AWAY), Temuera Morrison (ONCE WERE WARRIORS), Stephany Jacobsen (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) and Rhiannon Fish (THE 100), this special effects-laden sci-fi epic is powered by sincere genre passion and is exactly what Australian audiences have been craving, a homegrown Aussie blockbuster. OCCUPATION follows a group of civilians after their small Australian country town is annihilated by an overwhelming airborne attack as they evade capture and discover they are now among the last remaining survivors of an extra-terrestrial invasion engulfing the entire planet. As humanity falls under world-wide occupation, they form a homegrown army to fight back against vastly superior enemy forces. On the frontline of the battle for Earth, they are our last hope.

SKYSCRAPER
The trailer sold this as a cross between DIE HARD and THE TOWERING INFERNO, meaning this DWAYNE “THE ROCK” JOHNSON led actioner has  a hell of a lot to live up to! Intriguingly zany premise aside, fans of the Rock will likely be rewarded by his signature mix of kinetic action and winking approach to the carnage. Former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford now assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in Hong Kong, Ford finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze with his wife and kids inside, and he’s been framed for it. Ford must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family.

BLOCKERS
The teen sex comedy gets its latest overhaul by telling the familiar tale from the perspective of teen girls – resulting in a great sense of freshness and a stack of critical praise. This welcome development aside, there’s plenty else to relish here, including some great performances from John Cena and Leslie Mann as the teens parents and plenty of sick gross-out gags to savour! When three parents stumble upon their daughters’ pact to lose their virginity at prom, they launch a covert one-night operation to stop the teens from sealing the deal.
ATLANTIC RIM: RESURRECTION
Arriving a week after the release of PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING, this mockbluster from The Asylum looks to be one for fans of pure cheese…hold our beer! When huge bio-mechanical monsters descend upon the earth ready to destroy the entire city of Los Angeles, a whole new team of top notch “M-bot” pilots take control of their supercharged robot warriors and try to save the world from being reduced to rubble.
