CINEMA CULT Reveal April Home Entertainment Line-Up!

08 February 2018

Shock Entertainment’s repertory imprint, Cinema Cult have announced three first-time in Australia to Blu-ray titles for an April  4th release.

First up is Wes Craven’s hugely underrated 1981 classic, DEADLY BLESSING, with Sharon Stone in her first starring role and such genre luminaries as Ernest Borgnine & Michael Berryman.  INCUBUS!!!

DEADLY BLESSING
When a former member of a religious cult dies in a mysterious accident, his wife Martha (Maren Jensen, Battlestar Gallactica), who now lives alone and close to the cult’s church, begins to fear for her life and the lives of her visiting friends (Susan Buckner, Sharon Stone). Strange and deadly events begin to happen… Could she be the target of the evil cult and its fanatical leader Isaiah (Ernest Borgnine)?

Next up is slasher come monster feature, THE FUNHOUSE, also from 1981 and a criminally underrated work too by the late Tobe Hooper.

THE FUNHOUSE
On her first date with Buzz (Cooper Huckabee, True Blood), Amy (Elizabeth Berridge, Amadeus) disobeys her father and goes to the carnival with Richie (Miles Chapin, Hair) and Liz (Largo Woodruff), but their first date may end up as their last. After witnessing a murder, the four terrified teens are trapped in the maze of the funhouse and stalked by a real monster, a horribly deformed killer who lurks among the freakish exhibits to butcher them one by one.

Finally Robert Zemeckis’ 1992 Oscar-winner for Best Visual Effects, DEATH BECOMES HER with Meryl Streep, Golden Hawn & Bruce Willis will hit Blu-ray for the first-time locally.

DEATH BECOMES HER
Two narcissistic arch rivals (Streep and Hawn) discover the ultimate accessory – a potion that will keep them forever young – when they meet a mysterious enchantress (Isabella Rossellini, Blue Velvet) with deep ties to the Hollywood elite. But they get more than they bargained for when their newfound beauty only intensifies their vanity – and rivalry.
The DEADLY BLESSING & THE FUNHOUSE DVDs carry an RRP of $10 and Blu-ray at $20 while DEATH BECOMES HER Blu-ray has an RRP of $15.
