SUPER TROOPERS 2
The long-awaited and highly anticipated sequel to the 2001 cult comedy sees all major cast members return but let’s hope the decade-plus that’s passed hasn’t dulled director/star Jay Chandrasekhar’s ability to dish up irreverent and surprising comedy…meow. When an international border dispute arises between the U.S. and Canada, the Super Troopers- Mac, Thorny, Foster, Rabbit and Farva, are called in to set up a new Highway Patrol station in the disputed area. Unconventional police work follows, and the result is…SUPER TROOPERS 2.

THE LITTLE VAMPIRE
Based on best-selling fantasy novels, this family film could be a perfect way for horror fans to ease their brood into the genre! Animated fantasy based on the characters from the best-selling novels by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg.  Rudolph is a 13-year-old vampire whose clan is threatened by a notorious vampire hunter. He meets Tony, a mortal of the same age, who is fascinated by old castles, graveyards – and vampires. Tony helps Rudolph in a battle against their adversaries, eventually saving Rudolph’s family and becoming pals on the way.

JEEPERS CREEPERS: RAVENOUS
The long-awaited and highly anticipated third instalment in the JEEPERS CREEPERS franchise, JEEPERS CREEPERS: RAVENOUS arrives on Blu-ray & DVD locally this week. On the last day of The Creeper’s 23 day feeding frenzy, Sergeant Tubbs (Brandon Smith) teams up with a task force hell-bent on destroying the creature for good. The Creeper fights back in gory glory as his enemies get close to discovering his dark origins! Don’t miss your chance to WIN 1 of 3 JEEPERS CREEPERS: RAVENOUS on Blu-ray!
THE FUNHOUSE
Making its high-def debut locally, THE FUNHOUSE, from the late master of horror, TOBE HOOPER is a criminally underrated hybrid of the slasher and monster movie. On her first date with Buzz (Cooper Huckabee, True Blood), Amy (Elizabeth Berridge, Amadeus) disobeys her father and goes to the carnival with Richie (Miles Chapin, Hair) and Liz (Largo Woodruff), but their first date may end up as their last. After witnessing a murder, the four terrified teens are trapped in the maze of the funhouse and stalked by a real monster, a horribly deformed killer who lurks among the freakish exhibits waiting to butcher them one by one.
DEADLY BLESSINGS
Next up is another shamefully neglected horror gem from renowned filmmaker, Wes Craven. DEADLY BLESSING features thriller staple Sharon Stone alongside Ernest Borgnine and Michael Berryman – as well as plenty of Craven’s patented shocks and thrills! When a former member of a religious cult dies in a mysterious accident, his wife Martha (Maren Jensen, Battlestar Galactica), who now lives alone and close to the cult’s church, begins to fear for her life and the lives of her visiting friends (Susan Buckner, Sharon Stone). Strange and deadly events begin to happen… Could she be the target of the evil cult and its fanatical leader Isaiah (Ernest Borgnine)?
DARKEST HOUR
One of the most acclaimed films of 2017, DARKEST HOUR is worth a watch for Gary Oldman’s amazing, physiology-defying performance as Winston Churchill (aided by some truly remarkable practical effects). A thrilling and inspiring true story begins at the precipice of World War II as, within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill (Academy Award nominee Gary Oldman) must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation. As the unstoppable Nazi forces roll across Western Europe and the threat of invasion is imminent, and with an unprepared public, a skeptical King, and his own party plotting against him, Churchill must withstand his darkest hour, rally a nation, and attempt to change the course of world history. 4K Ultra-HD & Blu-ray releases contain an audio commentary track with director Joe Wright and two featurettes including one on Gary Oldman’s process of transforming into Winston Churchill.
ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD
Most of the discussion on this film centred on its last-minute recasting of Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer and sadly that overshadowed this gritty and effective thriller the finished film is. ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD follows the kidnapping of 16-year- old John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) and the desperate attempt by his devoted mother Gail Michelle Williams) to convince his billionaire grandfather (Christopher Plummer) to pay the ransom. When Getty Sr. refuses, Gail attempts to sway him as her son’s captors become increasingly volatile and brutal. With her son’s life in the balance, Gail and Getty’s advisor (Mark Wahlberg) become unlikely allies in the race against time that ultimately reveals the true and lasting value of love over money. Blu-ray contains deleted scenes and four featurettes including one titled ‘Recast, Reshot, Reclaimed’ that delves into the process of replacing Kevin Spacey at the eleventh hour.BLEEDING STEEL
A Chinese science-fiction cyberpunk Jackie Chan action film…BLEEDING STEEL is probably the only film that can boast all of these ingredients. Chan plays a hardened special forces agent who fights to protect a young woman from a sinister criminal gang. At the same time he feels a special connection to the young woman: like they met in a different life.
