PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES
After a six year break between films, PIRATES returns to the screen having narrowly avoid a recent threat of digital piracy and with a production tale or two that Pistol & Boo have lived to share! Down-on-his-luck Captain Jack is feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.

WILSON (Limited Release)
Opening in limited release this week in cinemas is the latest adaptation of a Daniel (GHOST WORLD) Clowes’ graphic novel, WILSON. Woody Harrelson stars as Wilson, a lonely, neurotic and hilariously honest middle-aged misanthrope who reunites with his estranged wife (Laura Dern) and gets a shot at happiness when he learns he has a teenage daughter (Isabella Amara) he has never met. In his uniquely outrageous and slightly twisted way, he sets out to connect with her.

XXX: RETURN OF XANDER CAGE

Recruiting an all-new group of thrill-seeking cohorts, Xander finds himself enmeshed in a deadly conspiracy that points to collusion at the highest levels of world governments.

SLEEPLESS
Unfortunately it’s not a US remake of Dario Argento’s 2001 Giallo, NON HO SONNO (aka SLEEPLESS), it’s a new actioner with Grammy Award-winning musician and Oscar winner*, Jamie Foxx. Undercover Las Vegas police officer, Vincent Downs (Jamie Foxx) is caught in a high stakes web of corrupt cops and the mob-controlled casino underground. When a heist goes wrong, a crew of homicidal gangsters kidnaps Downs’ teenage son. In one sleepless night he will have to rescue his son, evade an internal affairs investigation and bring the kidnappers to justice. *Despite popular opinion, Foxx did not win the 2005 Best Actor Academy Award for STEALTH, it was for his role as Ray Charles in RAY, also released that same year.
