THE ROOM’s Greg Sestero Talks New Film BEST F(R)IENDS!
Greg Sestero, star of the 2003 cult hit THE ROOM and best-selling author of THE DISASTER ARTIST: MY LIFE INSIDE THE ROOM, chats with us about his latest film, BEST F(R)IENDS.
The film sees Greg reunite with the enigmatic Tommy Wiseau after fifteen years, appearing on the big screen for the first time since their cult classic THE ROOM in 2003, which was embraced for all the wrong reasons and became the inspiration for the Oscar-nominated feature THE DISASTER ARTIST.
Written and produced by Sestero, and directed by newcomer Justin MacGregor, BEST F(R)IENDS is based on a series of true-to-life anecdotes sourced from Greg and Tommy’s two decades of shared experiences. Inspired by LA Noir, the film interweaves mystery, intrigue, and more than a few dark laughs in a surreal tale about friendship and loyalty. When a drifter (Sestero) is taken in by a peculiar mortician (Wiseau), the two hatch an underground enterprise off the back of the mortician’s old habits. But greed, hatred, and jealousy soon come in turn, and their efforts unravel, causing the drifter to run off with the spoils and leaving the mortician adrift.
BEST F(R)IENDS is now showing exclusively at Cinema Nova in Melbourne.
