HAPPY DEATH DAY Trailer Drops and it Looks Absolutely Killer!

16 June 2017

Get ready for the GROUNDHOG DAY of horror with HAPPY DEATH DAY, the latest from Blumhouse Productions (GET OUT, THE PURGE, SPLIT).

Described as “an original and inventive rewinding horror” in Universal Pictures’ press release, HAPPY DEATH DAY sees a college student (Jessica Rothe, LA LA LAND) relive the day of her murder over and over with both unexceptional details and a terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity.

Directed by Christopher Landon (SCOUT’S GUIDE TO ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE) and co-written by Landon & Scott Lobdell.

The film carries with it an exceptional tagline of “make every kill count” and the teaser art even harks back to 1981’s BLOODY BIRTHDAY.

We can only hope that Universal Pictures Australia take a chance on this HAPPY DEATH DAY and open it theatrically near its US release date of Friday the 13th of October rather than dump it to home entertainment in the first quarter of next year. We’ve heard rumours that’s tentatively slated for Thursday October 12th but have been unable to confirm that as yet.
