Aussie Classic HOUSEBOAT HORROR Announced for 4K Ultra-HD!

01 April 2018

Australia has an illustrious history of quality genre cinema and Ollie Martin’s 1989 feature, HOUSEBOAT HORROR, is no exception. After five years of complex rights-related detective work and some serious back and forth negotiation, we are pleased to say we’ve cut through the red tape and will be bringing this treasured though often maligned Australian classic to 4K Ultra-HD.

HOUSEBOAT HORROR will also mark Monster Pictures first foray into the 4K market though in the interest of collectors who have yet to make the leap to Ultra-HD, we are happy to report that we will be bundling our 4K Ultra-HD with a Blu-ray.
A film crew meet with a burgeoning underground rock act at the seemingly tranquil, though rather dull, Lake Infinity to shoot a music video. The two-day shoot quickly turns to bloodshed as each of the visitors to the lake are dispatched one by one at the hands of the lake’s mysterious inhabitant ‘Acid Head’.

Transferred, converted and digitally restored in 4K from the original Betacam SP tape master, you’ll experience HOUSEBOAT HORROR like never before!

In addition to the stunning 4K presentation and in keeping with Monster Pictures dedication to releasing world-class editions of Australian films, we have produced in-house a wide range of exclusive special feature content including a feature-length documentary.
