From master filmmaker David Lynch comes an uncompromising experimental thriller starring Laura Dern, Justin Theroux, and Harry Dean Stanton. Named as one of the best films of last decade by Sight & Sound, Lynch developed INLAND EMPIRE over a three year period while shooting on digital video – a medium he felt gave him “more room to dream”.
Hollywood actress Nikki Grace (Dern) is preparing for her biggest role yet, but when she finds herself falling for her co-star (Theroux), she realizes that her life is beginning to mimic the fictional film that they’re shooting. Adding to the confusion is the revelation that the film is a remake of a doomed Polish production, which was never finished due to an unspeakable tragedy involving the two lead performers.
