Monster Fest

Join us in Honouring Legendary Filmmaker George A. Romero this Saturday Night in Adelaide!

17 July 2017

With the tragic news this morning of the passing of legendary filmmaker George A. Romero, we’ve decided to dedicate this Saturday night’s Australian Premiere of IT STAINS THE SAND RED at MONSTER FEST TRAVELLING SIDESHOW to the great man himself.

Respectfully dubbed the ‘godfather of the dead’ by fans, Romero is not only responsible for pioneering an entire sub-genre within horror through his seminal 1968 feature NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD but for authoring many of the rules by which zombie films adhere by to this present day.

Adelaide, this Saturday night we invite you to join us to celebrate the life, legacy and influence Romero has had on both cinema and our own lives by coming along to IT STAINS THE SAND RED at GU Film House, dressed as a zombie, in honour of our icon, George A. Romero. Anyone who pays their respects by turning up on the night in costume will be rewarded with a free ticket to see another film at another time courtesy of GU Film House.

About the film:
In the throes of a zombie apocalypse, Molly (JIGSAW’s Brittany Allen) – a troubled woman from Las Vegas with a dark past – finds herself stranded in the desert with a lone ravenous Zombie (Netflix’ NARCOS, Juan Riedinger) on her tail. At first, she’s easily able to out pace her un-dead pursuer, but things quickly become a nightmare when she realizes the zombie doesn’t need to ever stop and rest. Running low on supplies and beat down by the harsh environment, Molly will have to summon the strength she never knew she had to ultimately face the zombie, and the demons that have chased her all her life.
