Eli Roth’s DEATH WISH Trailer Drops!
Eli Roth’s new screen adaptation of Brian Garfield’s beloved 1972 novel, DEATH WISH had its trailer drop overnight and the internet is in all sorts. DEATH WISH was made famous by Michael Winner’s seminal 1974 feature starring none ofter than man of action himself, Charles Bronson as Paul Kersey, a character that many would agree Bronson owns and should remain untouched. DEATH WISH had four sequels with Bronson reprising the role each time and while the quality waned as the films went on, we love them regardless.
Some were uneasy when they heard news that Eli Roth (HOSTEL, THE GREEN INFERNO) had set his sights on readapting the novel but far more were dubious when it was announced that Bruce Willis (DIE HARD, COP OUT) was cast to play Kersey. Now that the trailer’s dropped, it’s been called “every flavour of bad. Eli Roth and Bruce Willis stuck in each other’s career death spirals” (Andrew Todd) to “nakedly fascist” (Alan Zilberman) but understandably there are a quite a few folks out there who are genuinely excited.
DEATH WISH opens in U.S. cinemas on Wednesday November 22nd and at Thursday November 23rd released is rumoured locally.
