Dalia and her two young sisters grow up in a pagan apocalyptic cult led by an ancient Baltic goddess of death and reincarnation. On the night of an important cult ritual, a police raid rescues Dalia as cult members flee with her two sisters. Years later, as the guilt eats away at her, Dalia finds a potential link to the cult through a prominent and despised black metal artist sequestered in the woods. Dalia journeys to find her sisters but her quest for the truth becomes a descent into hell.

Emily lives in fear of her cancer returning, so much so that her anxieties have manifested themselves in the form of a faceless creature, her fear incarnate…or is it? In attempt to distract her from her troubles, Nina organises a weekend getaway for Emily and friends to a secluded cottage in a quiet country town. Orange Lodge is known far and wide as a good town with good people… however they have a strong no drug policy and will go to extreme lengths to prevent any drugs from entering the town.
NO SUCH THING AS MONSTERS
(World Premiere)
Filmmakers Introduction w/ Stuart Stanton (director), Jordan Hendrix (producer), Joel Francis (cinematographer), Matthew Clarke (actor), Michaela Celeste (actor) & Rebecca Fortuna (actor) hosted by Simon Foster.
A young couple, Mary and David, escape into the woods for a weekend away of rest and relaxation. Unbeknownst to Mary, this is to be the weekend in which David proposes. This all changes however when they encounter ‘The Family’, an odd group of individuals who kidnap Mary and David for their own nefarious purposes.
OUTBACK (World Premiere)
Filmmakers Q&A w/ actors Lauren Lofberg (actor), Taylor Wiese (actor), Mike Green (writer/director), Tim Nagle (cinematographer) and Peter Climpson (sound designer).
An American couple, Wade and Lisa, travel Down Under to experience nature at its finest. But their vacation gets off to a rocky start when Lisa rejects Wade’s marriage proposal on the flight over. As their relationship strains, they head inland to Uluru. On remote dirt roads, their GPS plays-up and they find themselves stranded and ill- prepared. With only each other to rely on, the two are driven to extremes in order to stay alive in the harsh and unforgiving Australian Outback.

A BIGGER JAIL (World Premiere)
Filmmakers Q&A w/ Matthew Victor Pastor (writer/director), Justin Wang (actor), Celina Yuen (actor), Khoa Le (actor), Glenn Maynard (actor), David Garotti (actor) & Rachel Javier (actor) hosted by Jarret Gahan.
A BIGGER JAIL follows a murderer who has recently been released from prison and a young married couple with a secret fetish. Set over the course of 3 days their paths will cross through the intimacy of sex and violence, with consequences that will leave them changed forever.

THE DUSTWALKER (World Premiere)
Filmmakers Q&A w/ Sandra Sciberras (writer/director), Cassandra Magarth (actor), Ruby Duncan (actor) & Caleb Scott (actor) hosted by Simon Foster.
One by one the residents of a small, isolated town become infected by an insidious bug that turns them into violent, indiscriminate killing machines. As the numbers of uninfected dwindle, the survivors must band together and find help if they hope to expell the parasite from their loved ones and survive the night.

TWO HEADS CREEK (Australian Premiere)
Filmmakers Q&A / Jesse O’Brien (director), Kevin Harrington (actor), Stephen Hunter (actor), Madelaine Nunn (actor) & Sam Baulch (cinematographer).
After the death of their adoptive mother, a shy butcher and his drama queen sister leave the UK and adventure to Australia in search of their biological mother, but the local townsfolk of Two Heads Creek are hiding a dark secret: The pair must reconcile their differences to fight for their lives in this dementedly dark comedy-horror.
BLOOD VESSEL (Australian Premiere)
Filmmakers Q&A w/ Justin Dix (writer/director), Nathan Phillips (actor) & Steven McKinnon (producer) hosted by Michael Helms.
Near the end of World War II, the survivors of a torpedoed hospital ship cling to life aboard a crowded lifeboat. With no food, water, or shelter, all seems lost – until an eerily silent German minesweeper drifts ominously towards them, giving them one last chance at survival. As our motley crew explores the ship, it becomes all too clear that some diabolical fate has befallen its German crew. The mystery only deepens when they encounter a young Romanian girl, apparently the sole survivor, who leads them to a locked room in the bowels of the vessel.

DARK WHISPERS VOLUME 1 (Victorian Premiere)
Filmmakers Q&A w/ Megan Riakos (creator/producer/director), Isabel Peppard (writer/director), Briony Kidd (producer/writer/director), Madeleine Purdy (writer/producer), Angie Black (producer/director) & Pri Montin (composer) by Simon Foster.
When Clara discovers her deceased mother’s revered ‘Book of Dark Whispers’, she can’t stop reading the strange stories within its mystical pages. Each weird tale reveals a new facet of the twisted human psyche… or the not-so-human, as the case may be. From the horror of grief to share-house living disaster, from existential dread to right-swiping vampires, there’s something for all tastes; as long as those tastes are twisted! Starring Andrea Demetriades, Asher Keddie, Anthony Lapaglia and Bree Desborough, the Dark Whispers horror anthology is brought to you by eleven female directors from across Australia.

THE FURIES (Victorian Premiere)
Filmmakers Q&A w/ Airlie Dodds (actor), Larry van Duynhoven (effects artist) and Garry Richards (cinematographer).
Rebellious high school students Kayla (Airlie Dodds) and her best friend Maddie (Ebony Vagulans) find themselves abducted by a sinister presence. Kayla wakes up in a box in the middle of a forest with no idea how she got there, and no idea of Maddie’s whereabouts. She soon realises she is not alone – men in terrifying masks are stalking six other young women in the woods. As the threat of more killers closes in, Kayla races to save as many girls as she can. But when the girls turn on each other, Kayla’s killer instinct is unleashed and she does whatever it takes to survive and seek revenge on her abductors.
