Morten Tyldum, the Oscar nominated director of 2014’s THE IMITATION GAME brings predominately sci-fi screenwriter Jon Spaihts’ PASSENGERS, a sci-fi/thriller/actioner to the screen with box office powerhouses Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in the leads. Two passengers are on a 120-year journey to another planet when their hibernation pods wake them 90 years too early. Jim and Aurora are forced to unravel the mystery behind the malfunction as the ship teeters on the brink of collapse, with the lives of thousands of passengers in jeopardy.

Aussie director Justin Kurzel (SNOWTOWN, MACBETH) lends his hand at adapting the long-running and successful video game franchise ASSASSIN’S CREED to the big screen. Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.

NAPOLEON DYNAMITE writer/director Jared Hess’s DON VERDEAN finally sees surfaces locally albeit as a JB Hi-Fi Exclusive after its home entertainment release back in March of this year in the US. Starring Sam Rockwell in the titular role and supported by a who’s who of contemporary American comedy including Will Forte, Danny McBride, Jemaine Clement (sure he’s a Kiwi but he’s getting a lot of Hollywood gigs) & Amy Ryan, DON VERDEAN also stars THE GREASY STRANGLER’s Sky Elobar! Hired by an ambitious small-town pastor to find sacred relics in the Holy Land, a self-proclaimed Biblical archaeologist comes up short and his attempt to cover up his failure fuels a comic conspiracy.
In a swift turnaround since it’s Australian theatrical release, director Antoine Fuqua’s take on THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN arrives on DVD, Blu-ray & 4K UHD this week!  With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue, the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns. As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.
